Do Yoga, Do You! - Yoga for Youth DVD

Featuring a well-rounded yoga practice, including breathing, meditation and relaxation, this DVD is geared especially towards youth of all colors, sizes, ages, and appropriate for both male and female viewers Also included is a Spanish version of this same practice, as well as inspiring interviews with the youth in the video. This is for any young person to look at, be inspired by, relate to, and do within 20 minutes.

This DVD was created by Niroga staff and teachers, based on their experience teaching yoga to youth in Niroga outreach programs. The stars of the DVD are all students who are connected to Niroga’s programs. The music was done by members of Youth Uprising, an Oakland-based nonprofit helping to bring peace to the streets through music. The film was made by Conscious Creative, local Bay Area filmmakers, who have dedicated their business to consciousness raising issues. Niroga was very lucky to be the recipients of their 2009 pro bono project.

It is our hope that this DVD will motivate more youths to find peace within themselves, in order to reduce violence on the streets.
