Restorative Yoga class description (beginning April 1, 2011)
In restorative yoga, we gently release tension and induce a deeply healing relaxation response through sustained, mild stretches comfortably supported with props, such as bolsters, cushions, blankets, blocks, and walls. As we yield to gravity in each position, we witness mindfully the flow of breath and any sensations, feelings, and thoughts that may arise and pass. Through practice, we cultivate physical ease, quiet minds, emotional balance, meditative awareness, and equanimous self-acceptance. We renew our energies and restore our embodied souls.

Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga is the yoga of mindfulness, where yoga poses and breathing techniques come together to prepare your body and mind for meditation, the fascinating journey within. In addition to the many benefits of the practice for your body and mind, you will be gently guided to connect with your authentic self, the wellspring of love and compassion, fearlessness and freedom, joy and peace.
