Niroga Center Yoga Teachers

Tricia Tangeman, MA, RYT

Tricia Tangeman, MA, RYT A ballet dancer from the age of three, Tricia Tangeman believes in the essential expression of the self through movement. When she was introduced to yoga over 20 years ago, she found the means to unify the body and mind through this grounding cosmic practice. With the belief that yoga is a deeply creative and devotional expression of the Self, Tricia encourages her students to look inside to find the connection to the greater whole through breath and asana. Tricia has experienced the healing benefits of yoga in her personal practice and found yoga essential during pregnancy and to post-natal well being.

Family Yoga Class
Tricia’s family yoga class is a playful environment to explore movement and self expression through yoga. All participants are encouraged to approach asana in a way that is joyful and creative; as individuals and as a family. Partnering between parent and child is explored, and independent practice for children and adults alike is supported. Breath work and mindfulness practices round out the class in a way that is accessible to children and provides parents with skills they can take home as well. Don’t be surprised if songs break out in class and be ready for laughter.

Mindful Flow Class
The mindful sister to Vinyasa Flow, likened to a cosmic dance, is a practice where postures or asanas are connected through the breath for a transformative and balancing effect. Classes builds heat, endurance, flexibility, strength. The creative sequencing found in a vinyasa class is often built around surya namaskar (sun salutations). Vinyasa as a form is always evolving and teachers weave together wisdom teachings, poetry and music that can inspire physical, energetic, mental, intuitive, and pure bliss states of consciousness. Students should have some existing yoga experience and be generally in good health.
